5 Healthy Eating Tips to Lose Belly Fat

You may have heard the phrase "you are what you eat". If you're trying to lose belly fat and get flat abs, that saying applies more than ever. You have to eat right to get flat abs. It won't work in any other way. It's nearly impossible to outtrain a bad diet. This is why I urge you to follow these 5 healthy eating tips to lose belly fat and get that perfect stomach you've always wanted:
1. Eat a lot of small meals - Your metabolism tends to fluctuate during the day. If you want to keep it high throughout your day, I recommend eating a small meal or snack every 2-3 hours. It's called 'grazing' because you always have something in your stomach or on its way down. It also helps the body digest your food better.

2. Don't eat for 2 hours before bedtime - Eating too close to your bedtime can make it harder for you to fall asleep. In addition, when you sleep, your metabolism slows down. This isn't the time you want to have a lot of food in you.
3. It's not the fat, it's the sugar - Fact of the matter is that there is a lot of low fat food that can still make you overweight. If you want to eat to lose belly fat you have to cut down on sugar, especially the processed kind. It is easily converted to fat and can also boost your hunger and cravings.
4. Get lean protein - Protein helps build your muscle tissue and also helps you feel full for a long time. But get your protein from lean sources like egg whites, chicken breast, and turkey. You can also eat meat as long as it's grass fed. One exception I make are nuts and almonds because they are full of the good kind of fat as well as protein.
5. Replace your candy snacks with fruit and vegetables - It doesn't have to be hard to eat healthy. Fruit and vegetables can be tasty, refreshing, and are very nutritious and healthy. Include 3 fruit and 2 pieces of vegetables in your daily diet at the very least.
